Ow that kind of summary dull... Maybe the author was too overconfidence that people read the previous chapters, eh? but then again I wonder what kind of summary was put on in the first part ;D That is just SO weird, if you know what I mean...

Lol I like proper summaries, coz they contain warnings too =P If they're yaoi fics, they warn us. If they have bad language, they warn us. Or, they could write a warning before the story or something. (This is getting off topic, but) I hate it when they don't write their warnings =P

I'm only on page nine of these replies *guilty look* I wanted to post to everything I've heard so far, and now i know how to modify my messages thanks to fungi! Oh to the comments on page to about 'good job' and 'update soon' I think for the most part, most of the reviewers arn't writers, they don't know that, thats what they get. I usually write three lines, parts I enjoyed in the story and questions. I don't bother to go and hunt through the mistakes in case I offend anybody. Since everybody here thinks it's such a great idea, I think maybe I'll start offering more suggestions and such. EVERYBODY HATES MARY-SUE's. Self insertation is not always a bad thing, it just is when the author gives themselves a perfect personality. Blah blah blah. Usually, a person would insert an OC and place some of there own charecteristics into them, there point of view and such. I know quite a few author's who use OC, Pikachumaniac for one (one of the best authors out there I might add) and Littlewolflover. They both have quite an assortment of OC's but the plot doesn't suffer from it.
To see if your story is good, I advise you find a beta tester on FF. I would advise you to pick someone your age or older, chances are, anybody younger won't pick up on relevant mistakes. It really helps you pick up on stuff your story is lacking. I'd be happy to do any beta testing for any stories which I know a crap about.
That's all i have to post for now.. I'll finish the next six pages.. when I"m done being lazy.

wow, i was not able to follow this thread for quite a long time now... anyways, summaries should be, like you guys said, informative. that way, the readers would know what's in the fic and if it's worth reading or not. i dislike it when the summary is nothing like the story itself. XD i've read fics with those kind of summaries and it wasted my time. ^^;
hmmm, i never even considered having a beta tester before...

I seriously think ffnet should develop a system of warning the authors BEFORE they delete a fanfic. i mean, what if the author honestly had no clue as to what rule s/he violated?! i know it's our responsibility as authors to know things like that but it's different once your story gets deleted all of a sudden. they deleted mine just recently. i'm a bit annoyed since i got 197 reviews for that fic! sorry, just rambling senseless thoughts.

I think if a story gets reported, they probably delete it anyway. Who knows what you got deleted for? You could email the administration. See if they have an answer.
I think it was already mentioned ages ago, but I am resonably ticked off. I got two reviews recently. One said this:
"This story is stupid. Signed, anoumous."
and the other said this:
"Update!"
Since I discontinued the fic that I got the reviews for, I think that both are a little redundant, right? (ie. I know it's stupid, that's why I stopped writting it, and can't you read?)

Now, I AM ABSOLUTELY FURIOUS WITH FFNET!!! THEY DELETED MY FIC AGAIN!! (I tried reposting it, following the guidelines to heart.) But they still fucking (sorry for the bad language) deleted it! So unreasonable. It's disgusting. I think you're right. Once a fic gets reported, they don't actually investigate whether it really violated the damn rules.

Email. Seriously. File a complaint. They can't just ignore you if you ask for a reason, can they?
