Err....about time that I plugged my own fic log. I don't think there are many Hunter fans around here, but take a peek anyway: www.fanfiction.net/~YomiI've currently got two active fics and one undergoing revamping. Hunter Works: Supposed to be Hunter centered but a lot of other anime characters make semi-permanent appearances, hence this is a large cross over of sorts. And of course, if you know me, my fics are largely Illumi-centric. (http://www.fanfiction.net/read.php?storyid=915890) The Definition of our Existence: Book I - Fall from Grace: The fic that stirred a certain amount of ire and anger at ff.net a few weeks ago over an instance of copying but that's over. This was the fic that I had been planning on before I took an extended leave. It's OC centric and unashamedly self insert - this was my challenge at creating a OC centered fic whereby the OC did not become a Mary Sue. Tell me if I've succeeded or failed. So far, everyone is ok with her, but I get the feeling that everyone's a friend and being nice (https://www.fanfiction.net/read.php?storyid=1525626) I wouldn't suggest you read Untitled as I'm reworking that right now. However, if you do insist, I'm not going to stop you. Just don't come hassling me about typos and plot holes and really abrupt scenes - I told you I was fixing it up (https://www.fanfiction.net/read.php?storyid=785048) Note: if you will give me constructive criticism, know that I will deeply question it and ask you a myriad of questions in return. I like to understand my readers thoroughly - especially their negative opinions because I want to know the exact reasons why a reader would form such opinions. I might come out sounding like I'm defensive about my work, or I might just be highly critical of a critique that in my opinion might not be valid. That's why we have discussions. I enjoy discussions. Note II: my fics are long. All three are actually over 100k, don't ask me why I never get anywhere with the plots given I've used so many words. If you could offer some reasoning, I'm all ears. Note III: Please enjoy ;D

Yay!! XD I'm a big fan of her XD XD XD XD I'm not much of a writer, so I can't offer much useful reviews (sorry ><). The best I could do is pointing out things I don't understand.... lol

Um...well, I read them before but can never get in the middle without being lightheaded or confused. I don't really know why--maybe some words were just too much for me, or the plot (like Yomi-san said) drags a bit...or maybe it's just me? ^^;
Ugh...I guess I got too used to light or script fics...damn it...but only in Yomi-san's fics can I see Illumi and Hisoka perfectly (or almost--just for me, I'm not Togashi-sensei ^0^) done in characterization! It was really refreshing after going through a few fics that display Illumi like some whore--pardon me!--on sugar-high XD
Oh, and she didn't seem like a Mary Sue to me too! ^__^ The very first! YAY!

Quick plug: I wrote a short one-shot last night - a Christmas fic even though we're nowhere near Christmas. Anyway, here's the link: www.fanfiction.net/read.php?storyid=1581608It's non-serious and inane and plotless: basically everything that I'm against but what the heck - Cherrie asked at the ML whether we were all still capable of writing one-shots or not so I gave it a go. Thanks for the review sammi! And the picture too ;D Yomi

No problem ^_^ I liked your story a lot!! Lol everywhere I look on FFnet, there's a loooong, multi-chapter story So it was really nice reading something short and sweet ;D And it was HisoIllu!! The only pair I support ;D Oh, and I read the long, revised version too ^.^ FFnet won't let me review it again though

Try reviewing it in the 2nd chapter Be glad to hear your comments. Yes - I look forward to your comments now sammi because they're wonderfully specific, unlike some others that I know. Got told off by Mashou no Ai (Neko's sister) that I shouldn't be treating her review seriously. I'll never understand these people. She was probably trying to sound smart when she said that, but more people are telling me that she was just using my review board to promote her own fic. I have never heard of a more appropriate term than "whoring a fic" --> damn, I've got to give Liz credit for that. What a low character. I hate dealing with these sorts of people. Next time, I'll just write: You have bad grammar. Your sentences don't make sense. --> then she'll understand the pain of curiosity. Okie - I'll be reviewing Girl's Diary after my exams (I put up a small notice at the ML - if you still go there that is!) so I'm sorry for the wait. Take care Yomi

I will, Yomi-san ^_^ Should I just put the review as review for chapter 2 (the original one), since FFnet won't let me put it for chapter 1? Or should I put an unsigned review? =P
Specific, ne? ^^; I finally found why some people Emailed me about my reviews. A classmate of mine had been playing around with my account when we were in computer class, and wrote random reviews like "I love your story! Continue soon!!" I found one like that (PLUS some not-so-nice comments) in the reviews for Hunter Works. I'm truly sorry for that, Yomi-san. ><
Oh - tell me about it!! Those two are crazy. Simply crazy. Do they think by having their fic on your review page, they'd actually get more reviews/praises? People who do visit your page are mostly from FFnet. They'd know what crazy kids those two are. *sighs* That was SO not intelligent (- -'')
Yeah, she'll understand that for sure. And she's using "English is not my first language" as an excuse? She could've tried to perfect it by getting a beta (I don't think anyone would want to be her beta though XP) or using the spell check system on Word. What she's saying, basically, is, "English is not my first language, but that's none of your business. My grammer/spelling might be bad, but you're not allowed to point them out."
Okie - I'll be reviewing Girl's Diary after my exams (I put up a small notice at the ML - if you still go there that is!) so I'm sorry for the wait.
Thanks!! ^_^ I do visit the ML once in a while, but I feel that there aren't much I can do there. I'll try to review Yumi's new fic though ^.^ (<-- her way of saying that she's too L. A. Z. Y!! XP)
Good luck on your exams!! (Gosh - our report cards are going to come out next week!! Eek!! ><)

Just another plug: I applied for my own proboards forum so that I could provide dissident reviewers with a private arena in which they can slug it out or vent their spleen about authors/fanfics which irked them to no end. It's not officially open (aka I haven't refrenced it in my website) but I thought a forum would be a more accessible way to communicate than by private email when people most of the time don't even leave their emails. yomi.proboards21.com/index.cgiIt's mainly a Hunter fanfiction/review/bitch forum, so it's a small chaotic little place. Hopefully when I'm back into business it'll start to get a bit more rowdy. -- Shameless plug over -- Oh, sammi, it doesn't matter how you review. You can do it at the ML, at ff.net or just pop a private email over ;D. And Mashou finally did give me an explanation as to why she found parts of my fic confusing. "I read too fast and sometimes I confuse myself." Ok, on the bright side, at least it's not something that I have to work on. Yomi

Thanks - but I don't expect the place to become big or anything. It's basically a place to visit when you've had a bad day, feeling grumpy and moody and the smallest things tick you off and you just *have* to say it. Frankly, I'm just tired of the mockery I manage to stir on my own review board - I mean, I don't mind seeing or reading it, but I'm just providing a private arena for the personal battles when people aren't really talking about my fanfic anymore.
So yeah - rants, raves, bitching and moaning - do it all over there. Why not? And guests can also post, so it's all very anonymous.

I want to join too, if it's okay with Yomi-san ^^
And I'll try reviewing about one fic of Yom-sani (I think that was the new one) when I have the time, coz I'd like to ask about something. But before I do, I need to make sure I didn't miss out any part. I'll be sure to read VERY carefully ^_^

And she was criticising your work for that?? And oh, I joined your forum ^____^v I'll drop by sometime ^_^

Woot! Thanks in advance for your opinions. I promise I'll do my share once my exams are over and I can sit down in front of the comp or over a hard copy and give a proper review.
As to Mashou - well, I think it is. I mean, I only pestered her for detail so that I could improve. But seeing that it was more her personal problem rather than mine, I'm just glad I got things cleared up. Come on now - no one blindly accepts criticism or opinions without adding in a question here and there. It shows that I care and value everything that you say!

No problem!! Good luck on your exams!! XD We'll all be waiting eagerly for your return It's nice to know that some authors are admitting their own problems (like Mashou) instead of getting into a b*tchfest (like whoppee (sp?)).
