Erm... you guys mentioned that quality fics are lacking rite? Well, it happens everywhere. I ran into some cheesy FF7 fics in FFN and yeah... it's WEIRD. People are just about the plow, not the content *sweatdrop*.

lol, it's not big deal, yumi-chan!
Writers block is a condition when authors have completely no idea what-so-ever in what they're righting, and they're often struggling in ideas, or their train of thoughts is lost.

I hate Writers block. Particularly when reviewers start hounding you to finish the next chapter.
*Sigh* Writers are so underappreciated.

OH MY #censored#! I was thinking of doing the same thing! I wanted to retire from CCS, but of course, I still want to finish those that I started working on. ;D what "hi syaoran" and "hi sakura" fics? i don't get it... <-- clueless how does those fics work? i don't really read around that much in the CCS category... writing a fic is bloody work as it is. I have this short anecdote about the 'dreaded' writer's block. i got this from a writer. a poet, to be more exact. it was her friend's birthday. and when her friend opened the gift given to her by some friends, she saw that it was a huge block with "writer's block" written on it. and so when she writes, she would put that block beneath her bed and say, "Okay, I will put away my writer's block. Now, I can write." and then the poet goes on telling us that there's no such thing as a writer's block. whoops! sorry fibs! i didn't notice it earlier.. hmm..interesting...i'm actually not sure if there is 'actually' no such thing as writers block, since i do quite sometimes have completely no ideas in my head. But sometimes i also can't tell apart whether i'm just lazy, or am i really sufferning writer's block...

no offense to any of you guys (including myself hehe) but i realized recently that blaming the "writer's block" for not having any ideas or whatever is just an excuse authors use. it only hinders you from writing. i mean, you say to yourself "crap, i can't write! stupid writer's block" and then, thinking that it isn't actually your own fault/problem, you delay your writing even more. a bit off topic, there's another thing i'm still pondering on --- about having an inspiration before/while writing. i remember someone telling me that if you write solely when you are 'inspired,' you cannot have writing as your career.

I agree with you Fibby. Just because you have writer's block doesn't mean you can't write. Sometimes I try forceing myself to write when I have writer's block. If Stephen King didn't force himself to write when he didn't feel like it he wouldn't be famous. I usually try doing something creative, or watch the anime/read the manga/play the game so I feel like writing it, a bit more anyway.

It could be partially the reason, but then for me I need a drive to actually write something I like. If I force myself to write it seems like crap to me.
