If anyone thinks they know more about Evangelion than me, I look forward to a challenge ^_^ Conversation Topics-Theories -Trivia style questions -Hidden meanings Bring one of those three things (or whatever you can think of) to the thread, and lets discuss and/or debate. I'm gonna put my knowledge on the line; I look forward to a challenge Remember, there will be ***SPOILERS*** from here on in. This is a no holds barred Evangelion debate, so don't expect no pulled punches. If anyone has the knowledge... Ikuzo. I'll be waiting.

*sighs* If that's the case, I'll have to redownload all of the eps. *mourns for Naruto and Trigun*
But what do you think of Rei Ayanami? She seems to be like a bit of a dummy character, y'know?

religious aspect? Have I not watched the series closely enough? I only remember parts and pieces now, but it's been nearly a year since I"ve seen the whole series. To me, Rei I feel sorry for her. The first her was destroyed than the second, the third one seemed to be braver in denying the Commander's request..

There is no "Rei". The "Rei" you know is just a clone - Thus, essentially she has no feelings. She was to obey orders, but she finally stood up to Gendo... for a reason. Can anyone guess what it was? ^_^

Because she didn't agree with it. Plus, I think she wanted to fight for her humanity.

Not so much.
She had taken orders from Gendo all her life, and was getting tired of it. He abused her (through Rei) and never even considered the feelings of his son (Shinji). Yui then decided that the final wish for humanity would rest in the hands of her son, and not in the hands of Gendo.
