Woot! Thanks in advance for your opinions. I promise I'll do my share once my exams are over and I can sit down in front of the comp or over a hard copy and give a proper review.
As to Mashou - well, I think it is. I mean, I only pestered her for detail so that I could improve. But seeing that it was more her personal problem rather than mine, I'm just glad I got things cleared up. Come on now - no one blindly accepts criticism or opinions without adding in a question here and there. It shows that I care and value everything that you say!

Thanks - but I don't expect the place to become big or anything. It's basically a place to visit when you've had a bad day, feeling grumpy and moody and the smallest things tick you off and you just *have* to say it. Frankly, I'm just tired of the mockery I manage to stir on my own review board - I mean, I don't mind seeing or reading it, but I'm just providing a private arena for the personal battles when people aren't really talking about my fanfic anymore.
So yeah - rants, raves, bitching and moaning - do it all over there. Why not? And guests can also post, so it's all very anonymous.

Just another plug: I applied for my own proboards forum so that I could provide dissident reviewers with a private arena in which they can slug it out or vent their spleen about authors/fanfics which irked them to no end. It's not officially open (aka I haven't refrenced it in my website) but I thought a forum would be a more accessible way to communicate than by private email when people most of the time don't even leave their emails. yomi.proboards21.com/index.cgiIt's mainly a Hunter fanfiction/review/bitch forum, so it's a small chaotic little place. Hopefully when I'm back into business it'll start to get a bit more rowdy. -- Shameless plug over -- Oh, sammi, it doesn't matter how you review. You can do it at the ML, at ff.net or just pop a private email over ;D. And Mashou finally did give me an explanation as to why she found parts of my fic confusing. "I read too fast and sometimes I confuse myself." Ok, on the bright side, at least it's not something that I have to work on. Yomi

Try reviewing it in the 2nd chapter Be glad to hear your comments. Yes - I look forward to your comments now sammi because they're wonderfully specific, unlike some others that I know. Got told off by Mashou no Ai (Neko's sister) that I shouldn't be treating her review seriously. I'll never understand these people. She was probably trying to sound smart when she said that, but more people are telling me that she was just using my review board to promote her own fic. I have never heard of a more appropriate term than "whoring a fic" --> damn, I've got to give Liz credit for that. What a low character. I hate dealing with these sorts of people. Next time, I'll just write: You have bad grammar. Your sentences don't make sense. --> then she'll understand the pain of curiosity. Okie - I'll be reviewing Girl's Diary after my exams (I put up a small notice at the ML - if you still go there that is!) so I'm sorry for the wait. Take care Yomi

Quick plug: I wrote a short one-shot last night - a Christmas fic even though we're nowhere near Christmas. Anyway, here's the link: www.fanfiction.net/read.php?storyid=1581608It's non-serious and inane and plotless: basically everything that I'm against but what the heck - Cherrie asked at the ML whether we were all still capable of writing one-shots or not so I gave it a go. Thanks for the review sammi! And the picture too ;D Yomi

Err....about time that I plugged my own fic log. I don't think there are many Hunter fans around here, but take a peek anyway: www.fanfiction.net/~YomiI've currently got two active fics and one undergoing revamping. Hunter Works: Supposed to be Hunter centered but a lot of other anime characters make semi-permanent appearances, hence this is a large cross over of sorts. And of course, if you know me, my fics are largely Illumi-centric. (http://www.fanfiction.net/read.php?storyid=915890) The Definition of our Existence: Book I - Fall from Grace: The fic that stirred a certain amount of ire and anger at ff.net a few weeks ago over an instance of copying but that's over. This was the fic that I had been planning on before I took an extended leave. It's OC centric and unashamedly self insert - this was my challenge at creating a OC centered fic whereby the OC did not become a Mary Sue. Tell me if I've succeeded or failed. So far, everyone is ok with her, but I get the feeling that everyone's a friend and being nice (https://www.fanfiction.net/read.php?storyid=1525626) I wouldn't suggest you read Untitled as I'm reworking that right now. However, if you do insist, I'm not going to stop you. Just don't come hassling me about typos and plot holes and really abrupt scenes - I told you I was fixing it up (https://www.fanfiction.net/read.php?storyid=785048) Note: if you will give me constructive criticism, know that I will deeply question it and ask you a myriad of questions in return. I like to understand my readers thoroughly - especially their negative opinions because I want to know the exact reasons why a reader would form such opinions. I might come out sounding like I'm defensive about my work, or I might just be highly critical of a critique that in my opinion might not be valid. That's why we have discussions. I enjoy discussions. Note II: my fics are long. All three are actually over 100k, don't ask me why I never get anywhere with the plots given I've used so many words. If you could offer some reasoning, I'm all ears. Note III: Please enjoy ;D

But I mean, at one stage or another, I guess I would be capable of that foul language. Rapists, murders, pedohpiles.... But not because someone criticized my fic! Well, I wrote the review because I just wanted to try to convey Zamtre's words in a nicer tone, to see if she would understand what I thought was wrong with her fic if I said it in a less harsh and blunt way. She wrote back...but she didn't seem to show an inkling of comprehension as to the things I pointed out. She wasn't rude or anything, but then, I'd rather she be rude because then I know she has actually *read* my post and understood it. She prefers 'short, neat messages' = aka: one liners and told Zamtre off for giving a 'speech. I thought he was actually doing her a favour by telling her what he thought was bad, not just a 'short, neat message' of: dis story sux! *sigh*

Hunter High is a very unoriginal title - it's just basically Hunter Highschool, except Highschools are commonly known as 'High' (our public schools here are like that - it's 'suburb-name High').
That author has some issues - she comes back sounding worse than a flamer. Perhaps she used to be a flamer and then turned into a fic writer. Nonetheless, falling back on happy praises after someone spends some time to critique your fic is the wrong way to go. But that's another story for another day....

We should all keep a lookout. Anyway, since it's over, I'm not going to say any more about her. Hope she takes some time off and grow up a bit more before she decides to pen down some thoughts again.

Ah yes....what a fiasco that was. Thanks for sticking up for me again Liz, and I guess you weren't the only one shocked by her behaviour. And what's with the poem?! Urgh...yet another pretencious grab at 'high English' or something. You're right masami, she never apologized and refused to give me back my title when she couldn't prove how it was actually relevant to her story. She probably took down her own fics - she said she would if anyone found another instance of unoriginality in her last fic. Nes Mikel found another one, namely a blatant rip of his OC's name. SousakaIce made an OC in Kurapika's head called 'Telrac' - spelt backwards, it's Carlet - take away the C and you get Arlet. Arlet is Nes' OC character in his Hunter fanfic - and that's GOT to be more than mere coincidence once again. Anyway, I found another Chinese fic which Ice copied from in her Valentines fic, so ff.net would have deleted it for her sooner or later. I don't grieve that she's gone - ff.net has one less author with a compunction to steal and deny. Yomi

to lunatic: as for a further demonstration of a misuse of 'higher' English (or what I call - a using of words one doesn't really understand in hopes of making himself sound like someone he's not), check this story out: www.fanfiction.net/read.php?storyid=1059286You get the drift. And...one last thing: punctuate: 1. Insert punctuation marks in. 2. interrupt at intervals ( punctuated his tale with heavy sighs) Hm....so you really did use but still punctuated in the 'look' wrong. Better luck next time (emphasized, concentrated, maintained, stuck to, highlight - why punctuate?!) Yomi

What a preposterous proposition lunatic - Liz was talking about me, and I would like to think I know myself better than a stranger who thinks they know me by my website. I'll say to you now - I like the HisoxIllu pairing - I tolerate yaoi fandom because that's their right but I actually harbour great distaste for it. Oh dear - does that mean I fall outside your gross generalization? Why yes - because it's a mere generalization, there are bound to be a gazillion exceptions. Note to self: try not to assert generalizations as fact. I do it all the time and it makes me look stupid, and consequently, the same for you in this case. Wow...you still don't get Liz's point. She has made a distinction between yaoi pairings based on looks and yaoi pairings based on character compatibility - one which I agree with. Explanations are best done through examples, so hopefully this will finally sink into you: HisokaxIllumi - is a visual couple. Well, actually, it's a bit of a borderline case because not only does Illumi look feminine, his actions and mannerisms are all feminime. People who accept yaoi pairings based on the visual representation do not necessarily like yaoi pairings AND can be repulsed by it, because they don't see it as a male/male pairing, given that one of the characters is so visually female. GonxKillua - is NOT a visual couple - one can hardly mistake them for girls. But there are still a lot of GonxKillua fans who think they're a couple because of their compatible personalities, the light/dark dichotomy etc etc. People who like this couple SEE this as a male/male relationship and thus these people are TRUE yaoi lovers. They will NOT be disturbed or repulsed by yaoi. Whatthe? How have you defined the word 'punctuate'? Because I cannot, for the life of me, work out what you're trying to say in this first paragraph. I'm being denied meaning! and oh - do you know what the general tone and context of "I know x...thank you very much" stands for? It's an injured tone, add a touch of defensiveness, intent to ridicule by proving wrong... and is generally not used graciously or happily. And hey! You've consequently got - Mr Angry Face - in the same sentence! Circumstantial evidence is against you mate - if you could 'punctuate' your words with *cough*...why resort to a smilie that comes nowhere near[/i] your alleged original intent? I'm crossing my fingers - Liz explained twice, and I tried to clarify her concept. Yomi PS - seriously dude, are you using the word 'punctuate' correctly? but still punctuated in the 'look' --> although you interpreted her utterly wrong, why didn't you just use emphasize? For goodness sakes, forego the pretencious use of English and try to communicate!

Well, flame them for a warning next time. Most sites I go to usually indicate that it's a lemon.
I ignore those. I read my first MS fic in Chinese the other day - I didn't realize it until I reached the end (when she died, of course) and then I said: Hang on a minute! She's a bloody MS!
Anyhow, know any sites with Chinese HisoxIllu fics Yumiko?

Dirty lemon? You mean full on graphic sex? Did you get a warning? If not, you should flame them for one. If yes, then you shouldn't have read it if you were uncomfortable with it. I always thought that lemon WAS sex - and no, I haven't seen many sex scenes in which there was a lot of dialogue. ;D LOL - Hunter fiction is still depressingly low on the number of R-rated, lemon fics. The Chinese HisoxIllu fics on the other hand.... ;D Maybe I could translate some and bombard ff.net with them ;D
