That's a nice way of looking at it. ;D
Living can be hard sometimes. But pain is the only thing that will remind us that we are alive.

hmm this is a really good topic.. it's hard for me to answer a question like this because I have so many mixed feelings on the topic. I don't see a point in life... but then I don't see a point in letting yourself die.. I don't see a point in living my life just to be part of some stupid ass cycle(being born... doing work.. having children.. dieing.. ur children working... having their own children.. dieing.. etc etc.) but then at times that cycle seems to be the only reasonable way to live my life... I guess I try to survive just to see if anything exciting will ever happen in my life... like will I ever live to see aliens get discovered on another planet or to see the end of the world or something like that but then nothing exciting ever seems to happn.. life is so bland and boring it makes me mad at times.. hmm well I'm going to think about this more and write some more later hehe I really like this topic tho

yea if you look at it, its a cycle.. think of it like your free falling and you need something to hold on to. Just to know that your alive. but why waste your time looking for the answer you know?!

Maybe it's because people have this innate tendency to ask questions. We constantly try to seek answers --- to try to know things even though we can never really find the answers. This is why we continue to live. To find the answers we know we can never really find. Maybe that's why we hold on as much as we do.
Maybe.

I wish I could think of a good answer to this question, but right now I'm starting to wonder what the point of living is. Life can seem so boring and repetitive at times. I wake up, go to school, come home, do my homework, go to sleep, then repeat this same cycle the next day. Sometimes it seems like I'm living the same day over and over again, only it changes slightly each time. Other times it just seems so... fake. Anyway, I guess there really isn't much point in dying either. I'll try to come up with a better answer when I get some sleep (like that will ever happen) .

Yeah, and I think the more questions we ask about why we're living or what's the point of life, the more unanswered questions we'll have, so then we (or some people) get miserable just thinkin' about it.

I think that no matter what life you have, you have to make it worth while. I flife weren't worth anything, why shouldn't we just kill ourselves the very first time?

I would really want to continue living just for the heck of finding out what really happens. Everybody is curious, no matter how much they deny it. I'm really curious about what it's going to be like by the time i become 80 years old (or if i still survive till that day) There are many things that's worth keeping us in this world. Everyone have someone they hold precious to, and they'll live for the sake of their well-being. You don't want to die because you want to be with this person or persons. Living is not all about reproducing and keeping the generations alive, but we live for the sake of our own will and happiness too! That alone already answered the question for myself; I want to find out about the world and be happy.

Why do we even have to find a reason for living anyway? When things get bad and worse, it's enough for me to just realize that someday, I will wake up and see a day where I solved my problem. I believe I can live my life like it's a dream and reality all at once.

i believe people always try and create a reason for living. in most religions you'll find that suicide is a BAD thing.. wether it be sin or haram or whatever. coincidence? i think not! me? i dont value life beyond my next visit to the hospital. my life BLOWS right now, and i have been sporadically trying to end it since February. luckily for y'all i'm a coward. i always back away form the edge. why? because i'm STUPID.

put it in the same context, everything is going to end someday, why not just blow everything off the face of this earth? let's bring the apocalypse. To live, is to hope. you hope for the better when you are down. ^^ if it's so boring as you put it, why not just do something 'good' and help others? you got the time anyway. and oh, according to the magnificant book, "The hitchhiker's guide to the galaxy" the meaning of life is... 42.

oni, was that addressed to me? *confused* if it is, i never said that life was boring, i just said it sucked major ass. i dont want to do good things for other, they might become under the mistaken impression i'm a nice person. and i dont have ANY time. my time is divided between school, home, hospital and maybe ten hours for social activities a week. no.. the meanign of life is Pie.

Live longer? Well, there's a limit to life. But you can end your life - there's no limit to that (BTW: Your avvy and sig aren't showing up, Keko!!)

I think it's a natural reaction to want to survive. If someone is attacking you, what's your reaction? defense, in some way defend yourself, right? why? because you want to survive, whether purposely or uncounciously your body wants to.
I also believe we survive to help other generations after us to survive, such as finding cures to diseases/poisons, better education, more discoveries. A way to make the world better later on in life.. for what reason? um.. yeah, i dunno X.x
A more personal reason though, would to be happy. Everyone wants to be happy in life, unfortunately we don't live in doo dah land.. so some people can make it through, others look at it pessmisticallyand don't even try.
it really all depends on your perspective. (^_^)
