Alright, I'm sure that a majority of us have read fanfiction of some sort. Now, I want to ask you, what do you think makes a good author? Is it technique, style, length, or anything like that? What about the charazterization, or the 'heart' you put into your story?

i like fics, that are easier to read and the story line is interesting... something that appeals to me.. i like fics that have lots of emotion in them... can't think and gotta rush (piano very soon) and for me... none of my fics fit any of those... which is why my fics aren't that great.

i checked out the link and i agree. although there are a couple of things i REALLY must see in a fanfic... otherwise... 1. non-OOCness 2. an original and cleverly laid-out plot 3. it must at least be easy to read (by this i mean the fic must stimulate my imagination and that it must have good grammar and such)

I think, to get a sucessfully good FanFiction you need:
1. A good plot. 2. Fairly good grammar and spelling etc.
Things that can ruin a Fanfiction:
1. Awful spelling and Grammar. 2. Original Characters if they're done wrong. 3. Not spaced properly. (It MUST BE PARAGRAPHED!)
Well, that's what I think!

the good plot is a 'must need' for a good fanfiction, that's for sure. and as for the grammar one, i think that's actually the thing i'm struggling on. i am actually really bad at tenses, so i got lots of reviews pointing out about my grammatical errors. but i do agree that it is REALLY hard to improve in the grammar area...
what i also hate alot is those fics that puts in so much author's note, that it is completely annoying and hard to keep up with a story!! i just wish that they would keep all their comments at the end!!
