I'm Christian, though I never go to church. I'm more of an athesist, as I don't really believe in my religion.
I really don't aggree with some of the things in the bible, and some of it contridicts itself repeatedly. But I don't think I'll go into details.
My dad's catholic and my mum's christian, so I didn't have much choice in my religion. I reckon if I tried to change it they'd kill me anyway.
I believe in science more then religion, although science doesn't claim to know everything.
I'd better stop, or I'll make some people very angry.

I know I'm religious so I shouldn't say this, but you should choose your own religion, not your parents. Your parents should accept that you are an athesist, but don't listen to me. I don't know about your family situation, and you shouldn't listen to anything I say. Trust me. People have died because they listened to me!

PLS don't get angry at me for what i am about to say: I'm a buddhist though we don't really worship it as much. I'm not very religous but I do go to temples if I get the chance. But I go to an angalican school and learn heaps about Christian... But I don't believe there is a God nor a buddah all i believe is spirits. Because there has been no proof of God or Buddah, and september 11 2001, why didn't God save those poor people from dying ppl might say it's a punishment from God...but still, hundereds were innocents. And also I don't believe that God created the world in 7 days....I think it is a bit....you know way over the top...and the adam and eve story.....not that I'm saying Buddah created the world or anything, i believe the world was created in the scientific way... I don't reckon there should be religion...I reckon everyone should just live in peace...think about what kind of conflicts and racism religion has bought... I have been called a 'nasty buddhist' a couple of times by a asian girl who was a christian because I said I didn't believe in God. Ooo i forgot one thing, I DO believe there was once Jesus but I don't really believe the stuff he did... And if some ppl think the Bible is the proof of God...well it might be just like a fairy-tale people wrote centuaries ago.... Please do not get mad at me...i'm just expressing my idea

No one's getting mad at you HERE, rest assured.
I agree with you and disagree with you. I believe that the world began with the big bang.
However, I don't agree with your theory that there people shouldn't need a religion. It's an awful thing, really. But the human race is so dependant on believing that they have purpose, that they created all these religions to have someone bigger to look up, put things into perspective.
Hmm... A danger and yet a comfort. Heinous!

A reaction to what Yumiko said: (and no, i'm not mad or anything. ;D) The spirits you say you believe in may actually be the God or Buddha the rest of us believe in. who knows? (hehe... i won't expound on that. i don't want to go all philosophical on you. ^^; ) Although i think it is quite natural to sort of blame God for not saving those people, (we all need someone to blame after all ^^; ) it's not like an army of angels would swoop down and save them all from the crash, right? (oops, sarcasm fails to elude me) besides, even in the Bible, He lets the good people suffer. Think of it this way: those people are in a better place right now (anywhere NOT here is better. ^^; ) and it should not be thought of as punishment from God. that is such an... old (sorry, can't think of another word right now) way of thinking.) And I think you got it all wrong. The seven days of creation (nor the adam and eve story) is not literal. It is symbolic. and i agree with silva. if there is no religion, what would this world come to?! i hope this cleared things up for you.

Adam and Eve WAS symbolic. I still don't like it. Females got the very short end of the stick.
If there, was no religion, who knows? In the dark ages, people wouldn't have fought wars over it, and something tells me that prejudice against skin colour would increase.
After that? Who knows?

only when you think of it that way. and besides, we should remember (sorry to all the protestants out there..) that the Bible is subject to human error (note: that is what my logic brought me to believe. it is not something taught to me by my religion.) besides, in the old days, the society was patriarchal, which is the reason why the story went the way it did. i mean, why else do you think they call God "He"?

I agree with you Fibby. The Bible has been translated again and again, so it's bound to have a few errors, the Catholic Church (no offense to Catholics) really screwed it up. They changed a lot of things to say what they wanted as opposed to what was actually written in it.

Gee, I hope I'm not starting to sound like an athesist or something. I do believe in God, and Jesus, and I do believe in some of the stuff in the Bible. Every now and then I find something that sounds kind of... . Just had to say that, 'cause once again I was starting to sound like a bad Christian. I should really just shut up.

I find the bible amusing at times. It constantly contradicts itself. One moment it's telling us that God is ever forgiving, another that we won't get into heaven unless we sell everything we have and another that God is vengeful and cruel.
It's rather amusing.

Yeah. I do agree with some of the stuff in there though, mainly the morals and values like not killing, or stealing, and stuff. I try to follow the ten commandments at least. I hope I'm not that bad. At least I won't go to Hell (I hope). Anyway, if I were a better Christian I could probably explain some of the stuff about the Bible better, but I can't. There are plenty of articles on the bed, and if I wasn't a sleep deprived loser suffering from a bad case of insomnia I'd look.

but how come God is he, Father. and Jesus is the son of God (he) and all his diciples are male...none of them are female...no offence but there just sexist in there
in Buddahsim, we worship 3 main God (we don't call them God..I can't rememeber what they're called)
And out of the 3 Gods 2 of them are woman..

I know what you mean, it does seem a little sexist. There are a few females that actually did something in the Bible, and I found an article on them somewhere. I have a link, but it's on my computer at home. To lazy to look for it again.
